Video: run your first task

Connect your agent to ego-browser and run a visible browser task on Windows.

Use ego-browser from your AI agent to run a task in ego (lite). The agent works in its own Space, can use your signed-in browser session when needed, and leaves your tabs alone. You can open its Space to watch the task or take over a step.

The recording uses Codex to find a popular Reddit post from the past week, open it, and return the details visible on the page in a table.

Give your agent a task

After you install ego (lite), start a local Codex or Claude Code session that can access ego-browser on the computer where ego (lite) is installed. Select the skill if it appears. The agent needs permission to run it locally and open ego (lite). Review the permissions shown by your agent, and adjust them if the launch is blocked.

Send this request:

Use ego-browser. Find a popular Reddit post from the past week, open it, and return its title, subreddit, link, posting date, and visible engagement figures in a table. Mark any figures the page does not show as not shown.

The agent opens Reddit in a Space and reads a post. It then returns a table with a link to the source.

Watch and review

Open the agent's Space in ego (lite) while it works. You can see the pages it visits without losing your place in your own tabs. If a site needs a login or verification code, take over for that step.

When the task finishes, open the source link and compare the table with the post. In the recording, Reddit does not show a view count, so Codex marks it not shown. If the agent could not access a page or read a figure, ask it to identify what is missing instead of guessing.

For the permission settings and skill selection shown in the recording, see How to use ego (lite) with Codex. For more background and ideas for your next task, return to Quick start.
